A Nevada lawmaker wants to make it harder for the public to determine who is packing heat. Assemblyman Don Gustavson, R Sparks, asked the Legislative Counsel Bureau to draft a bill for the 2011 legislative session that would make personal information related to concealed carry permits confidential.

A new law is on the books in Arizona. Since Thursday, anyone 21 years or older who is legally qualified to own a firearm may carry one without a Concealed to Carry permit.

In defiance of state law, Chester city council approved a resolution Wednesday calling for the state Legislature to pass a law requiring lost or stolen handguns to be reported missing to police within a reasonable amount of time after the discovery of their disappearance. Council voted, 4-0, in favor of the resolution. Councilperson Marrea Walker-Smith was absent.
