Fri, 08/01/2014 - 07:00
A very good friend of our's needs some help. The anti-gunners are working overtime to defeat Sheriff Clark in his primary election on August 12. They want to knock him off the national stage and send a message to high-ranking law enforcement everywhere to either toe the anti-gun line or face unemployment. If you live in Milwaukee County, be sure to vote for Sheriff Clarke in the Democrat primary for Sheriff.

Please Take Action on Proposed Ban on the Sale and Trade of Ivory

Thu, 07/31/2014 - 19:00
In past Grassroots Alerts, we addressed the Obama Administration's proposal to ban the trade and sale of legally owned ivory within the United States (click here to see the initial alert). The NRA supports efforts to stop poaching and the illegal trade of ivory.  However, banning lawfully-owned domestic ivory will have no impact on elephant poaching in Africa.  On the contrary, such a ban would affect only honest, law-abiding Americans by making their possessions valueless.  Please see this New York Times article highlighting the broad spectrum of people who will be harmed by the ban.

Thu, 07/31/2014 - 19:00
Last night, in the waning hours of Massachusetts’ legislative session, its House and Senate passed H.4376.  Seemingly out of definable categories of persons to deny the right to arms, this bill would make Massachusetts the first state in which an individual’s right to acquire any type of firearm would be subject to the discretion of a government official.

Thu, 07/31/2014 - 19:00
With $50 million, one would think Michael Bloomberg and his anti-gun cronies could afford to conduct some focus testing. However, judging from the reaction to the latest fear-mongering ad from Bloomberg’s Everytown group, the ex-mayor and his astroturf activists are clueless when it comes to women and firearms.

FDIC Backpedals on Operation Choke Point as Victims Fight Back

Thu, 07/31/2014 - 19:00
This week, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) released a new Financial Institution Letter purportedly aimed at “clarifying its supervisory approach to institutions establishing account relationships with third-party payment processors (TPPPs).” As we have reported, FDIC is among a number of federal agencies involved in Operation Choke Point, an enforcement program that claims to target financial fraud, but that many say is being used to choke off banking services to legitimate, although politically-disfavored, businesses.

2nd Amendment is pro woman

Wed, 07/30/2014 - 19:00
My family was never big into weapons, even though we grew up on the farm. Tragically, I think much of it stemmed from a close relative who died in a hunting accident. Also, several favorite political figures of my family were cut down by assassin’s bullets in the 1960’s. With a background like that, who would want weapons? However, the military gave me a healthy exposure to weapons, along with being stationed in the Great State of Texas. A few years later, I moved to another Virginia and got married.
